Knox Burger, Agent and Book Editor, Dies at 87

The man responsible for persuading John D MacDonald to create Travis McGee is dead. He was the fiction editor at Collier's when "Looie Follows Me" was published and he later became editor-in-chief at Fawcett, the publisher that put out most of JDM's paperback originals.

If you love the works of MacDonald, or popular fiction in the Twentieth Century, he was a giant.

You can read his obituary here.
